Our story

Cooked by a wahine who never sits still

Kapakahi Grindz has been feeding Oʻahu since 2009. It runs on Chef Chan Berengue, a self-taught Native Hawaiian and Samoan cook who brings home what she learns everywhere she goes: Tahiti, Guam, Japan, Thailand, New Zealand. Then she folds it into the local grinds we all grew up on.

Born in Wahiawā, the truck is now posted up at North Shore Stables in Waialua, still slinging the originals and now some ocean-to-table fish too. Chef Chan even took home a win on Hawaii News Now's Kitchen Scraps.

The kine numbers that matter: a real local following, fifteen-plus years on the road, and a line that keeps coming back.
